LUNG FUNCTION TEST (SPIROMETRY).

Spirometry tests are performed among a selected group of employees who are prone to be exposed to chemical substances or welding fumes.
The results are analyzed and if there is any area of concern the management is notified and corrective preventive actions are looked into.

AUDIOMETRY TESTS
- TO IDENTIFY NIHL.

Based on the sound mapping survey done in the yard if there are areas identified with loud noises. The employees working in these areas will undergo audiometry testing.

DERMATITIS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM.

This is to identify any type of contact dermatitis among employees who are prone to be exposed to different types of chemical substances A general questionnaire is be filled by the employee and a physical examination of their skin will be done

HEAT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

This program helps the employees to work during summer season. There are cool rooms initiated in various locations of the yard where oral rehydration solution and drinking water are provided.

VISION TESTING

Vision test will be done to all crane operators and forklift drivers in the vard two times in a year.
Those employees who require any correction in their vision safety corrective glasses are provided.

HEALTH FITNESS SURVEILLANCE

Health fitness tests for employees involved in rope access activities are done every year. These tests are done to ensure that these employees are fit to preform their tasks.

HEALTH FITNESS TESTS

Specific health tests are done for the firemen. Blood tests, X-rays and spirometry tests are done.

Main Occupational Health Risks

Health risks at the workplace, such as heat, noise, dust, hazardous chemicals, unsafe machines and psychological stress, cause occupational diseases and can aggravate other health problems. Conditions of employment, occupation and the position in the workplace hierarchy also affect health.

There are a lot of activities in the yard in which various types of machineries are involved which produces a lot of noise

During the summer season from June to September employees may be exposed to high temperatures and to heat generated due to the nature of their work.
